Zara Jamal will moderate Module III – International Arbitration at the 4th International Arbitration Conference in Mozambique, taking place on 4 June, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., at the Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) Auditorium in Maputo, Mozambique.
The module dedicated to international arbitration will address topics such as the effectiveness of the New York Convention before the Mozambican courts, fair and equitable treatment in investment arbitration, and unlawful evidence in arbitration, with a focus on the intersection between common law and civil law systems.
The conference programme will also include debates on arbitration in Mozambique, arbitration in the Portuguese-speaking world, and new developments in arbitration, namely artificial intelligence, smart contracts, blockchain and ESG criteria in major extractive projects.
